Leveling is an incidental process that occurs while you're doing that (and which actively works against you). UVHM is about keeping your gear up to date and effective. Weapons age based on level disparity, and every time you level in UVHM, so do your enemies. Originally posted by Nakos:If you've reached level 56, and you're still using old level 50ish Sand Hawks, that's part of your problem. Those also lower your cooldown skill, and also buff an elemental skills (Fire, Shock or Corrosion). Keep your eye out for Bones of the Ancients. A Legendary Cat is good too, but you won't start seeing those before the early 60's. They boost Gun damage, and lower your action skill cooldown. Try to get yourself a Legendary Siren mod (those can drop at any level). With those three skills, Maya can consistently, repeatedly slag half the map. Take a look at the spec Draekus showed you, there are three key skills for Maya: Ruin, Converge and Cloud Kill. Those three guns are all very easy to get and very easy to keep updated. The Hornet drops from Knuckle Dragger, back on the Southern Shelf. The Unkempt Harold drops from Savage Lee, who hangs around in the Marrow Fields. The Unkempt Harold (don't bother with a DP version) and the Hornet are also both easy to get and to replace whenever you want. It's not a quest reward, it's just a drop in Frostburn Canyon. You can go get a new Lascaux every level if you want. Lascauxs are very easy to get, look at the wiki link I listed in my earlier post. That's part of why I suggested you get yourself a Lascaux. No matter how good it was when it was new, by 56, most of it is junk. Hanging on to your aging gear is part of your problem. If you're playing in UVHM, then you need to be using UVHM gear. The game has an aggressive gear obsolescence curve, but the higher level you are, the steeper that curve is. In this state, the goliath moves slowly and only use melee attacks. If you've reached level 56, and you're still using old level 50ish Sand Hawks, that's part of your problem. If the helmet of a Goliath is knocked off at just the same time as he is phaselocked, he will enter a bugged berserk state.Boom can only be phaselocked once he dismounts from Big Bertha.Bewm, Captain Flynt, Bad Maw, Mad Mike, Mortar, No-Beard, Big Sleep, Sandman and Cassius can be phaselocked, while Handsome Jack, Pyro Pete, Motor Momma, and Piston can't.Savage Witch Doctors (Can only be phaselocked for a split second).Bandit Technicals and Sandskiffs (Immune to Phaselock effects and damage).Phaselock cooldown starts right after the enemy takes damage. These enemies can not be phaselocked, but may take a large amount of damage instead.Ĭonverge, Helios, and Ruin will still take effect, while Suspension, Sub-Sequence, Thoughtlock, Sweet Release, Elated, and Chain Reaction does not. Phaselocking the same enemy multiple times is not recommended as each phaselock will be shorter than the previous. It is worth noting that due to Phaselock's primarily crowd control and support nature that it is possible to create an effective build for Maya which ignores the use of Phaselock entirely.Using Converge (tier 3 Motion Tree) will allow skills such as Scorn (tier 6 Harmony), Helios (tier 2 Cataclysm), Chain Reaction, Cloud Kill (tier 3 Cataclysm) and Ruin (tier 6 Cataclysm) to become much more effective as the singularity effect will draw enemies in to AoE range, however most of these choices require significant point investment. The Cataclysm tree has skills that evolve Phaselock to damage multiple targets at once. A key target may be trapped to make it easier to hit or damage, or a dangerous target in a group of enemies can be temporarily removed from the fight while others are being dispatched.
